What Guild Membership Includes
Membership is designed to provide benefits that working dissertation editors and coaches can actually use.
- Access to editable agreements, intake forms, policies, trackers, and client-work templates; input on types and content of evolving forms/templates
- An optional profile in the DECA Editors Guild member directory
- Private Discord channels and Facebook Groups for referrals, questions, problem-solving, and professional support
- Eligibility to receive client and colleague referral opportunities
- Member-only workshops, with recordings available for later viewing
- Early access to new Guild resources and the ability to request materials that would support your work
- Opportunities to share your expertise in the Guild resource library and member features
Membership does not guarantee assignments or referrals; it provides you with useful business materials and access to editor colleagues who understand dissertation work.

DECA Editors Guild welcomes:
- Dissertation and thesis editors
- Dissertation coaches and academic coaches
- Academic editors whose work includes doctoral research
- Experienced educators or writing professionals moving into dissertation editing or coaching
- Retired professionals who want to remain connected to the field
Membership Cost
Founding Membership
The first 25 approved members will receive a complimentary one-year Founding Membership. No payment information is required.
Founding Members will help shape the Guild’s early resources and community priorities. At the end of the complimentary year, they may renew for $50 annually.
Annual Membership
After the 25 Founding Memberships have been filled, membership will cost $50 per year.
Memberships will be renewed manually. Members will not be charged automatically.
